A pink nodule on a boy’s knee

A 3 year old boy presented with an asymptomatic pink nodule on the right knee. The lesion had started as a pink papule 4-5 mm in diameter and gradually enlarged to a smooth, pinkish, rubbery nodule, doubling in size over one year (fig 1). There was no history of trauma or bleeding at the site, and the boy was otherwise healthy. There was no family history of skin cancer. No other visible mucous and skin lesions were observed. As the nodule was increasing in size, it was excised entirely and sent for histopathology (fig 2) to provide a definitive diagnosis.
