Re: A question

If consent for an autopsy is given would that not include removal and examination of the brain? So why the fuss?

Re: A question

The "fuss" as Dr. Harris puts is about the differnce between "removal" and "retention". To remove for purpose of investigation (autopsy) and to retain for unspecified scientific inquiry without explicit family consent are not the same thing. For a physician to apparently not recognize that is troublesome.
