Turning a blind eye to the war

“We are surprised and indeed disgusted to see the BMJ turning a blind eye to the manslaughter that occurs now in Iraq,” wrote Mr H Hashimi and Dr A L Stewart in a rapid response to last week's BMJ. “Instead of pointing the light on what could prove to be the most grotesque display of human aggression in this century,” they continued, “the BMJ is now reduced to publishing merely about MMR, anxiety, and vertigo.” The issue had some 20 pages on doctors' wellbeing and one page on the war in Iraq.
