Area income inequality in Denmark does not affect all cause mortality

Inequality in the distribution of income in districts in Copenhagen is as high as inequality reported from metropolitan areas of the United States. However, Osler and colleagues (p 13) found that area income inequality did not affect all cause mortality in this Danish population after adjustment for individual income and other risk factors. This may be because Denmark's welfare system evens out the effect of area inequality.
