    EDITOR,—In a book about AIDS the Social Commission of the French Episcopate states that “Many competent doctors maintain that a condom of reliable quality is today the only means of prevention. As such, it is necessary.”1 I wonder whether the commission is aware of the following relevant facts about condoms and the transmission of HIV.
